This page has a story and comments about an animation-commentary based on the French riots, made by a Hong Kong native now living in France. The animation is also on the page.
Basically he says racism is the cause of the riots, so it’s okay for them to riot.
Further, the animation uses black male characters, set in the USA, to get his point across, but keeps the Franco-centric storyline (which is all in broken subtitles).
So let me get this straight… this animator is saying if someone doesn’t give you what you want, or doesn’t give you the respect you think you deserve, it’s okay to riot, kill and destroy other people’s property? Hmm.
While government-based police aggression based on race isn’t acceptable, not getting a job because you don’t fit a company’s image is fine in my book.
For example, I don’t want a dude’s package in my face if I go to Hooters, I want tits in my face. Big female tits on a skinny girl wrapped in a tight belly-shirt. It’s what I expect, it’s what I want, and I expect the company to cater to me. Guess what, that’s sexism.
If a company won’t hire you because of your race, you’re better off not being with that company anyway. Make a stink about it if you want, but don’t fuck up my car because Misseur Jacque won’t hire you.
If the cops fuck with you, tell the newspaper, write some letters, make some noise, but don’t throw molitov cocktails at my fucking shop!
And if you’re a drug dealer (as one of the men was who was beaten by police in the animation), you probably don’t want that kind of exposure, so keep your shit quiet. However, drug legalization may be something you should get your ass into.
To conclude this shit, there’s no excuse for rioting and destroying your neighbor’s property just because someone else treats you poorly. If the government fucks with you, fuck with the government, not your community. If a company fucks with you, fuck with them, not your neighbors.
